CREATIVE ART INTERCHANGE

Art is both an introspective medium and a medium of expression and communication. Through the Creative Art Interchange project, we aim to promote the development of creative proposals in primary and secondary schools to promote Artistic Education not only as a plastic, aesthetic and expressive medium but as a meeting point. Through the exchange and knowledge of other contexts, cultures and realities, we foster active exchange so that students can broaden their conception of the world and break down prejudices through artistic approaches. Where art acts as a cultural mediator that enables a deeper and more meaningful dialogue.

Our work methodology is open: it is based on an inspiring general theme for the participating centers to personalize the proposal and develop their project in operational tandems of exchange, sharing advances with the rest of the groups.

We attach great importance to the ideation of the project and the work process, but also to the idea that students are able not only to participate in a conscious artistic process but also to create their discourse and also stimulate key socio-emotional and cognitive skills, such as empathy, active listening and critical thinking. As a closing, an exhibition is organized that collects the evidence of the whole process and in which the students themselves assume the role of “curator” to generate a story of the whole process, which also serves as a space to share experiences with all the agents involved in the project, showing the learning in a significant way.

The project has an international vocation to make the participating realities disparate. In recent editions, centers from Catalonia, the United States, Germany and Argentina have participated. We believe that extending borders is a fundamental dimension that broadens the depth and scope of the experience, fostering an intercultural dialogue that enriches the artistic and social understanding of the participants.
